My husband and I spent Christmas 2020 at this comfortable well stocked house with amazing views of Lake Champlain. This house has all the cooking supplies you need. It has an open floor plan, large windows, and comfortable furniture. Barb is a warm and welcoming host and made us feel at home. We look forward to returning!

This is a really special place. We've rented many other houses in the past and this was, by far, the best! As others have said in their reviews, the photos do NOT do this place justice. The house is bright, airy and spacious. Outside there are so many places to enjoy the amazing views of the lake and property. The easy access to the lake was wonderful and we spent lots of time kayaking, swimming and floating. The bird watching was incredible. So many songbirds, shore birds and even an eagle catching fish! Inside the house is very well stocked which made it a delight to prepare meals and then enjoy eating on the deck. The hosts, "the Barbs", are incredibly communicative, responsive and friendly and really made the visit even better. We will be back for sure!!!

we wanted to stay on the lake for xmas. barbara's house was perfect. quiet and off the main road, and an hours drive to burlington.
We had a wonderful stay at Barb's guest house on the lake. The house was spotless and provided all that you need to enjoy your stay. We saw two eagles out front , an osprey and caught many fish from shore. Beautiful view of the lake and surroundings.

The cabin is very spacious and yet it also feels quite cozy. We enjoyed using the cabin as a "home base" while we explored the area by day and snuggled on the couch by the fireplace at night. Barb was very responsive to my enquiries and she has an extensive list of good ideas for things to try, places to visit, and restaurants to try. We had a great trip!

This is our second visit to this beautiful vacation rental run by two very warm, friendly ,and attentive owners.
We rarely return to rentals for more than one summer, but this Vermont gem drew us back! The setting is gorgeous, serene, private, and restorative. The house sits on a small hill overlooking Lake Champlain.There's nothing better than grabbing a favorite book and relaxing in the comfy adirondack chairs that face the lake ,or kayaking in Barb’s kayaks in the early evening, as the sun begins to sink towards the horizon. It’s heaven.
The house itself is warm, very spacious, and equipped with everything you need! How can you beat a huge jacuzzi tub in which you can sit surrounded by foaming bubbles and stare at the lake, or a skylight above your head that allows you to truly sleep under the stars? Then there’s the fun game room downstairs, the terrific kitchen, the cozy living room with reclining sofas and the expansive master bedroom full of light and sporting its own deck overlooking…you guessed it…. the lake! Barb and Barb pay great attention to providing the best vacation experience possible. The beauty of this area is that it is quiet and out of the way and yet in just a short drive , you have a plethora of activities from which to choose. This home gave us great comfort and solace during a very difficult time in our lives and gave us sustenance for what was to follow. For that, we will be forever grateful and it is what brought us back. There is a special “magic" to be found here. Beth and Bill Wilmington, DE

Well-equipped property, many quality fixtures and appliances, cozy propane stove, central heat and air, game room in the basement, easy in-and-out. LOTS of space for two people. We met Barb at checkin and she went over everything for us, including local restaurants and things to do, places to visit, etc. Great view of the lake from the kitchen/sunroom or the family room, and an even better view from the master bedroom upstairs. Bed was very comfortable. Be aware there's no washer/dryer onsite. At the time we rented the listing reflected this, but said laundry facilities were available at a local general store just north of the property. However, the store no longer provides this service. TIP - bring slippers or those gripper slipper socks. Barb asks guests not to wear shoes in the house - understandable given the beautiful hardwood floors and stairs. They are a bit slippery in regular socks. Property has various watercraft for use on the lake (canoes, kayaks, paddle boat) Looks like a great spot for fishing too. Overall a very comfortable stay and we would reserve again if staying in Vermont.
We had wonderful stay and Barb was excellent host. The home us relaxing, comfortable and easy to get to other great sites in Vermont. I appreciated kitchen having good cookware and utensils to needed. Our visit was during cloudy May so it was amazingly quiet. Had good luck fishing from shore and dock too. Highly recommended.
We chose this location hoping to get away for a few days and just be able to relax. Well we definitely chose the right place!! It is gorgeous, stunning and tranquil. The sunlight and views are everywhere and breathtaking. We loved the day trips we took, and thank to Barb for all her tips, we did it all. After we completed our days it was so peaceful to know the house we were going back to and how relaxing it was. We would not have changed a single thing about the house. It had everything you could want. There was a care basket of treats for us as well as a binder packed with information about the area. We will absolutely be going pack to the house and the Adirondack chairs we got engaged in. This house and trip will forever be in our hearts and we will be back!!
This beautiful home is a perfect couple's getaway. It is very private, right on the lake with amazing views from every room, and very well-stocked. It is also very near things to do, including historical sites, nature preserves and of course the beautiful lake and mountains. Bonus - the owners are awesome and are folks with whom you'd love to hang out. You cannot go wrong with this rental!
This is the ideal 'escape from it all' location yet close enough to good food and sights. The property itself is very comfortable and well equipped. It has a wonderfully spacious feel and to be honest the photographs don't do it justice! The views we had across the frozen lake definitely had the wow factor! The host, Barb gave us a thorough introduction to the property and the local area and its attractions. We followed her recommendations of where to eat and visit and were not disappointed... we just wish we had had more time to spend in this beautiful location. Fully recommend and hope to return ourselves in the summer!
I absolutely love this house! It is clean, modern, and extremely comfortable with beautiful views of the lake. The propane stove, the primary heating source, is very easy to operate, heats the house quickly, and is gorgeous to watch. The view is EVERYTHING!
Barb is friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. She will leave you a few treats to help you enjoy your stay!
I also appreciated that the kitchen was very well stocked, not only with dishes and pots and pans, but with a huge spice cabinet, Ziploc baggies, condiments, really all of the things you will probably forget to pack.
You can see the lake right from the Jacuzzi tub! (and literally everywhere else in the house!)
I brought my Roku, which was a great addition for the evenings.
I would not recommend anybody try to stay at this property in the winter without all wheel drive. I probably would have been able to get in and out in a regular car, but maybe not. I did not have any significant snow while I was there, but it was still piled deeply and the road was icy. It’s Vermont in the winter, what can you say?

We had so much fun in the game room and walking down by the lake . The bed was so cozy and the fireplace was easy to use . Wonderful for our first trip together !
This place really is a gem. Barb was super warm and welcoming, and it was great to get to chat with her a bit. She gave us a very thorough tour of the house so we would know where everything was, and had a detailed list of recommendations for just about anything you could think of in the area! The house is stocked with just about anything you could think of - pantry, spices, coffee, there were even fresh local eggs and milk, which was a great surprise so we could have a lazy breakfast without having to go anywhere. There's even a stash of DVDs that we took advantage of for a quiet evening in.
The views of the lake were spectacular, and so were the stars at night. The house itself is beautiful and well-maintained. Our dog loved the yard, and I'm sure it's even better during the summer months when it's a little warmer to sit outside on the deck chairs.
Overall this was a great romantic weekend getaway for my partner's birthday and I'd love to go back again in the future.

Barbara is a magnificent host that made this already amazing place over the top. This trip was a quiet getaway to recharge and celebrate a birthday. Barba went above and beyond and set up the house with some birthday decorations and a welcome basket. The house has everything you could possibly need/want. From a generously stocked kitchen to a game room in the basement not to mention the impeccable views of the lake from every room in the house. If you are debating about making a reservation there are no cons just book it. You will not be disappointed. Can't wait to return during the warmer months.
